Opportunity to join the PPP board of directors

We’re looking for up to four directors to join the team and champion PPP’s vision and values through an exciting period of growth.

This is a great opportunity to become a voluntary director of the People’s Property Portfolio (PPP) at an exciting time in our story.

PPP directors are currently  developing 17-21 Chapel Street in Little Germany – restoring it as a vital space for culture and community.

We are a Community Benefit Society, a type of cooperative committed to working democratically. We now have over 300 members, who are pushing this ambitious project forward alongside us.

As a PPP director you are a key decision-maker, working as part of a committed and supportive team. Being a director is also a great way to build networks and develop skills.

Key responsibilities, include:

  • Ensuring PPP is operating according to our principles and aims, and for public good.
  • Complying with our governing documents and rules.
  • Scrutinising the work of PPP team members and contractors.
  • Setting strategy and establishing robust organisational policies.
  • Acting in PPP’s best interests and championing its work to stakeholders.
  • Managing PPP’s resources responsibly, including spending and securing funding.
  • Acting with care and skill and utilising the skills you have to help PPP thrive.

 

We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with finance experience to take on the role of Treasurer.

We are also seeking a director with skills in the following areas:

  • Capital Project Management
  • Building Development and Portfolio Management
  • Legal
  • HR
